During Ivan Morison’s brief career as a fruit and vegetable vendor he made a significant financial loss. Having ordered too much stock Ivan was forced to sell it at rock bottom prices. However his fruit pyramid display technique did improve, Ivan set up and ran a fruit and vegetable stall as part of an off site project with Norwich Gallery. The stall itself is an original Covent Garden barrow, carefully restored and modified by the artists. During this project Ivan fully immersed himself in the world of fruit and veg, building a close link with Mr Fruity, the local wholesaler, and visiting local growers. Ivan was able to insinuate himself into the daily life of Norwich and its people for the duration of the project. Though the stall was a great artistic success, it seems that it was not a complete financial success. We are currently looking for a more commercially viable pitch for the fruit and vegetable stall.
